A compilation of 250 movie posters from Japan, produced between 1960 and 1990, compiled by Paris-based publisher and curator Charles Deroyan.

A wonderful resource for those interested in the intersection of cinema and graphic design and the visual vocabulary of film promotion in Japan, as well as designers interested in the global history of poster design. Included posters utilize photography, illustration and expressive typography.

Multidisciplinary designer Charles Deroyan established Masala Noir, an independent Paris-based publishing project focused on capturing global cultural aesthetics through archival imagery—ranging from hip-hop iconography to Japanese punk visuals.
