Based on the film written and directed by Ti West

She was destined for the stars… but first she had to live through hell!

In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks rising starlets, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.

Ti West’s acclaimed horror trilogy concludes with a blood-soaked neon nightmare in the Hollywood Hills—adapted for the page by Bram Stoker Award-winner Tim Waggoner.

The filmmaker-approved novelization is printed in throwback pocket-sized paperback format, bringing beloved scream queens Pearl and Maxine to a new medium. Relive the cocaine-fueled nightmare that threatened to sabotage Maxine’s stardom, now with grisly new details drawn from West’s original screenplay.

Maxine may have made it to Hollywood, but it’s still one goddamn fucked up horror story.

Tim Waggoner has published nearly sixty novels and eight collections of short stories. He writes original dark fantasy and horror, as well as media tie-ins, and his articles on writing have appeared in numerous publications. He’s a four-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award, a one-time winner of the Scribe award, and he’s been a finalist for the Shirley Jackson Award and the Splatterpunk Award. He’s also a full-time tenured professor who teaches creative writing and composition at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio. His papers are collected by the University of Pittsburgh's Horror Studies Program.
